Round 17 of the 2026 Monster Energy Supercross season doubled as the series finale and the most competitive night of the year. Inside Rice-Eccles Stadium, the East/West Showdown format stacked the 250 class with the best riders from both coasts, meaning just making the night show was an achievement on its own.
After some ups and downs in Philadelphia, the Dirt Legal DBDRacing WMR KTM team showed up to Salt Lake City ready for it.
The squad rolled in wearing retro-inspired 110 Racing gear paired with matching HBD Graphics kits, with GUTS Racing on board as the weekend title sponsor. Over 2,000 miles from home base, the crew was dialed in from the first gate drop of the day.
Jace Kessler
Had one of his cleanest days of the season. He sat 12th after the opening qualifying session, then improved in session two to finish 15th overall in East Coast qualifying, matching his season best.
The heat race didn’t go his way, but the LCQ told a different story. Kessler grabbed the holeshot from second off the start and stayed in contention with the lead group throughout, ultimately finishing 6th in one of his strongest rides of the year.
Marcus Phelps
Marcus was inside the top 20 all through qualifying and carried that form into the heat race, coming through the first turn in 7th. A few small mistakes over the nine-lap race let riders by, and the altitude started taking a toll physically. Phelps was sick after the heat race and had little left for the LCQ, finishing 15th.
Jaxen Driskell
Closed out a season that included significant time on the sideline with injury. He secured his spot in the night show by improving his lap time in the second qualifying session and ending up 19th overall in East qualifying.
His rides in the heat and LCQ were hampered by poor starts, but he kept putting in consistent laps and finished 16th in the LCQ. Getting back behind the gate and competing again was the win.
Anthony Rodriguez
Arod was fast early. He topped his qualifying group in the morning session before getting caught up in first-turn chaos during the heat race, restarting near the back and charging to 15th. In the LCQ, he ran inside the top eight early but couldn’t find the moves to transfer, finishing 9th.
