After a close call at the Lake of the Ozarks, Team Dirt Legal closed out the opening weekend of the 2026 XINSURANCE UIM World Championship Series with a Class 700 win at the Atlantic City Sports Offshore Grand Prix, held June 26-28 along the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

Class 700 Podium

Driver Brad Christopher and throttleman Connor Langheim piloted the Dirt Legal Velocity team to the top of a nine-boat Bracket 700 field. The win came after Team Progression exceeded the class speed limit, moving Dirt Legal Velocity into first.

Second place went to RedRum, continuing a consistent run through the 2026 season. Third went to the Nova Scotia-based team Pist’n Broke.

Event Recap

The race marked the first event of the Race World Offshore season and drew 49 boats to Atlantic City, more than expected, racing in better conditions than forecast along the approximately 5-mile course parallel to the Boardwalk.

The weekend wasn’t without its scares. In Bracket 400, Team 07 was struck by another boat that became hooked and redirected into their hull, resulting in a heavy impact. The crash looked ugly, but everyone involved walked away with only minor bumps and scratches.

Season Momentum

Team Dirt Legal races a Velocity Punisher 22 powered by a Mercury Racing 300R V8 in Class 700, with Christopher behind the wheel and Langheim on the throttles. The Atlantic City result adds to a season that already includes a Class 700 win at Race World Offshore Chicago and a class victory at the Powerboat P1 Thunder on Cocoa Beach event, building on the team’s Class 700 title-clinching sweep at the Key West World Championship.

Team Dirt Legal heads next to St. Clair, Michigan, for the July 24-26 event on the 2026 schedule.
