California Driving Laws: A Complete Guide

California allows teens to get a driving permit at 15½ and a license at 16 after meeting education and practice requirements. Drivers must follow strict rules on seatbelts, phone use, DUI limits, and speed. A point system tracks violations, and new insurance minimums take effect in 2025. Licenses renew every five years, with extra steps for drivers over 70. Ride Legal offers an easier way to handle registration without DMV hassle.
