This past weekend, our Dirt Legal family suffered an unimaginable loss. Caleb, one of our very first employees and a cherished part of our team for over three years, passed away after experiencing a tragic accident while riding his motorcycle. Caleb suffered complications caused by heat stroke while riding. He was doing what he loved most, riding on two wheels and living life with passion and freedom.
Our hearts are shattered. For those of us who had the privilege of knowing and working with Caleb, we’ll remember him as someone who brought a tireless work ethic, quiet leadership, and a deep love for the riding community to everything he did. For hundreds, if not thousands, of our customers, Caleb was a trusted guide who helped get their vehicles street-legal, answered questions with care and patience, and made the process feel human. For his family, his fiancée, and his closest friends, Caleb was so much more. A son. A partner. A brother. A rider. A soul full of light.
Caleb’s legacy stretches beyond his desk and our office walls. He lived and breathed motorcycles, often posting footage of his daily rides to his Instagram account, @121_rides, where he shared his love for dirt bikes and the pure joy of the ride. Riding wasn’t just a hobby for him; it was a part of his identity, and it brought him deep peace and purpose.

Honoring Caleb’s Legacy
In honor of Caleb’s memory, and with the blessing of his family, we’ve partnered with the Montana Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MMSF) to raise awareness about motorcycle safety, particularly in extreme heat. Caleb’s passing is a painful reminder of how critical proper hydration, heat awareness, and safe riding practices are during the summer months.
Heat stroke can strike without warning, even for experienced riders. We encourage all of our customers and the broader riding community to educate themselves and others through the resources provided by Montana Motorcycle Safety Foundation.

As part of this effort, from July 16 to 18, we will donate a portion of all sales each day to represent every year Caleb was part of our Dirt Legal family. This donation will be made to MMSF in Caleb’s name, and we invite our community to do the same if they feel moved to.
There’s no easy way to say goodbye to someone like Caleb. But we can honor him by continuing to ride responsibly, by watching out for one another on the road, and by carrying his spirit forward in everything we do with grit, passion, and heart.
We love you, Caleb. You’ll always be a part of Dirt Legal, and you’ll always be riding with us.
